April 23: Dementia, Dignity, and Rights: What Everyone Should Know
Brain Health & Wellness Series
More than 6.7 million people in the U.S. are living with a dementia diagnosis, yet too often they face stigma, exclusion, and a loss of voice in decisions about their own lives. A diagnosis should never mean losing dignity, respect, or the right to participate in care and personal decision-making. This webinar explores the fundamental rights of people living with dementia, including respectful treatment, privacy, and access to compassionate, evidence-based care. We will examine rights based approaches such as consent and assent, dementia statements, and the AD Bill of Rights, and discuss how to uphold dignity, prevent neglect, and recognize people with dementia as true partners in care.
